Making Music

University Symphony Orchestra

Aberdeen University currently runs the one of the largest orchestras in the North East of Scotland. Formed earlier last century, the Orchestra is truly a mixture of town and gown, with students and staff of the University playing alongside local teachers and professional players.

In recent years the orchestra has shared the stage with a number of nationally and internationally respected soloists. The orchestra is conducted by Roger B Williams, Pete Stollery and Paul Mealor.

The Orchestra's repertoire is drawn from the 18th to 21st centuries and in recent years has included works from Beethoven to Brahms, Bax and beyond!

ALL PLAYERS ARE REQUIRED TO AUDITION FOR THE 2009-2010 SESSION.

Auditions will be held from 25th-30th September. Sign up for auditions at Fresher’s Fair or outside the Music Office. For more information: tel 01224 272570, email music@abdn.ac.uk
