Recent UCU research has exposed the inequalities inherent in the current professorial system, both in terms of under-representation of women and BME staff in the professoriate but also the pay gaps that continue to exist. Guidance will shortly be made available to branches.
Advice for branches on pursuing the other equality elements of the national claim such as: ensuring fair treatment for hourly-paid lecturers; tackling the gender pay gap; and an obtaining disability leave agreements is also available.
AUCU is currently planning to set up a Women's Group - the first meeting will take place in January 2013.
