Software Tools for Web Authors:

These software tools are stored locally, and are freely available for you to download and use. Installation instructions are also provided. Please select the type of tool that you wish to download: 

	HTML Editors, for creating Web pages
	Converters, which can change other file formats to HTML
	Map editing programs, for creating Active Maps
	Graphics software, to create pictures for your pages
	CGI Scripts, for processing forms, Web counters etc.
	Web Management Tools, bookmark converters, link checkers etc.
	Helper Applications, for viewing documents within Web pages.
	Search and Retrieval Agents, for downloading Web pages.
	Access Tools, for making Web pages more widely accessible.

Note:  If you are looking for Web browsers (such as Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer), these are not included in the above list. This is because at this site each central UNIX server holds a directory (/dos/common/internet) which contains a range of suitable browsers. This directory is accessible to all local users. Software may be installed from there directly to your personal computer.
