Welcome to The Big Read.
The Big Read programme has, at its core, the shared reading of a common text by staff and students throughout the University. A range of related activities will run throughout the first term of the academic year.
For 2012-13, our chosen book is The Wizard of the Nile by Reuters Special Correspondent Matthew Green. This text was chosen in cooperation with the University of Aberdeen Students’ Association, to reflect the massive global interest in Joseph Kony. Kony, a Ugandan guerrilla, is the subject of the Kony 2012 short film which is presently the most downloaded viral video in history.
