To study for a degree at the University of Aberdeen it is essential that you can speak, understand, read and write English fluently. These skills will allow you to understand lectures, produce high standards of written work and perform well in examinations. Language proficiency is mainly assessed by referral to candidates' IELTS, TOEFL or PTE Academic qualifications. If you possess English Language qualifications other than IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic you are advised to contact our Language Centre for guidance on equivalencies. All English Language qualifications must be taken within two years of the start date of your desired course.
If you require a visa to study in the UK please make sure you are familiar with the UK Border Agency's English Language requirements.
An English Language test is not required if you are a national of one of the following countries -
Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, New Zealand, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America
