We value the feedback we get from you, as this helps us ensure that the student experience at Aberdeen is a positive one. Some of the actions that we have taken in response to comments made by students in previous surveys include:

  • We have introduced MyAberdeen, an online learning resource to assist teaching, information provision and student feedback.
  • We have developed a student feedback website to to support staff in providing the best possible feedback to their students.
  • We have held focus groups with students to strengthen channels of communication.
  • We have developed action plans for all schools to engage with students' teaching and learning needs.
  • We propose to introduce surveys in earlier years to improve our means of feedback from students

As a result of feedback in previous years we have also:

  • Introduced the feedback framework to allow clear, full and helpful feedback to students as soon after the submission of work as possible
  • Opened a new InfoHubto support students in their studies and University life
  • Developed enhanced induction for new students to allow a more helpful transition to the University environment
  • Developed a set of Graduate Attributes which we would expect an Aberdeen graduate to achieve and provided a new ACHIEVE website to enable students to monitor their progress towards achieving these
  • The University has continued to develop the STAR (Students Taking Active Roles) Award to recognise those who have undertaken roles outside of their academic studies, in order to develop their transferable skills and competencies. The University continues to facilitate work experience and work placements opportunities, including in research as well as social responsibility projects and community-based projects and overseas study.
  • Implemented a review of the academic timetable as part of curriculum reform
