Cooper Memorial Race 2012!

This years Graeme Cooper Memorial Hillrace will be held on 29th April.

The course will comprise of a 12km run around Loch Muick, (undulating, rocky terrain with minimal height gain) and a final loch side challenge before the sprint back to the bothy. Entrants need not be super-fit, the course can be run or walked, and spectators are welcome. There will be no entry fee but sponsorship forms and donation buckets will raise money towards the local Mountain Rescue teams.

Itinerary for April 29th:
Transport from Aberdeen Sports Village - 10:00
Glen Muick car park/Allt Na G - 11:30
Race Start - 12:30
Food/prizes/drink to finish
Minibuses will leave approx 16:00 but feel free to stay later.

Pub change

Hi everyone,

The pub this term (from 02/02/12) has changed to the Illicit Still and we will be meeting there every Thursday from 9pm.

Upcoming events

This Thursday (22nd) at 7.30pm will be the introductory slide show in MacRobert MR268. Afterwards we will head to the Old School House pub. This is the pub we will meet at every Thursday at 9pm.

Saturday 24th is the first trip of the year! It will be a day trip to Lochnagar with the option of walking open to everyone (please have a look at the kit section of the website) and climbing for those with prior experience and their own climbing gear. The cost will be £10 and you must also be a member of the club (£15 for new members £20 for returning members).

For those of you interested in trying out or improving your rock climbing there will be begginers sessions on the first two wednesdays of term. On the 28th September and the 5th October meet outside ASV at 1300. If the weather is good we will head out to the sea cliffs. If its bad we will head to one of the indoor walls.
