Counselling Service Philosophy

The Service Counsellors use the Person-Centred Approach to work. Carl R Rogers developed the Person-Centred Approach from his work with clients. His research and experience led him to believe that individuals can be trusted to fulfil their own potential given the right psychological climate or conditions. These 'conditions', created in a relationship with someone who is genuine, accepting and understanding, allow the individual to be open to their experience and to develop trust in themselves and others.
