Every undergraduate student at the University of Aberdeen is allocated to an Adviser of Studies. In the School of Education Advisers may sometimes be referred to as PPAs (Personal and Professional Advisers) and in the School of Medicine and Dentistry Advisers are known as Regents.
The Adviser of Studies is often the student's first point of contact for any concerns they may have, either academic or non-academic. If an Adviser cannot assist with the problem/concern directly, s/he can refer a student on to the correct service or person.
