Support for Advisers

There are a number of sources of support for Advisers, including:

Registry Officers

Within the Registry a team of Registry Officers provide both Advisers and students with advice and support on

  • Regulatory matters
  • Student progress
  • Student administration, such as the processes surrounding internal transfer, and withdrawal from and readmission to study

Alternatively, there is always a Registry Officer on duty at the Infohub who can be approached for assistance between 9 am and 4.45 pm Monday to Thursday, and 10 am and 4.45 pm on Fridays. You can also call the Duty Registry Officer by telephoning +44(0)1224 27 3286.

Senior Advisers of Studies

Each School appoints one or more Senior Advisers who

  • Provide advice to colleagues on academic advising matters
  • Act as mentors to new Advisers of Studies within their School or department

Director of Undergraduate Programmes

There is a Director of Undergraduate Programmes (DUP) for each of the University's seven areas of study. Within their areas of study, the DUP has

  • Responsibility for overseeing, monitoring and developing the advising system
  • Delegated authority from the Senate with regard to the application of the Regulations governing the degrees.
