Biography

Dr Mary Pryor is the Senior Academic Skills Adviser and lead in the Student Learning Service, which is the student facing part within the Centre for Academic Development. She works with students to develop their academic writing, critical thinking, and communication skills, and with academic Schools to facilitate exchange of pedagogic ideas and practice across the University. Her scholarship research interests and recent publications include engaging employers with the concept and credibility of skills development recognition through the award of digital badges, and the potential of micro-credentials (short courses) to upskill the workforce.
