Who's Who in OneSource

The remit of the OneSource Programme Board is:

• To ensure delivery of the programme in line with the specification, on time and within budget
• To ensure alignment of the programme with institutional strategic aims
• To approve programme priorities
• To ensure that the benefits of the programme are fully realised, including recommending changes to existing University policy to the University Management Group where necessary
• To engage staff, students and other stakeholders with the programme, through the implementation of an agreed communications strategy
• To facilitate resolution of competing issues across institutional initiatives, making recommendations
• To report to the University Management Group, and to the University Operating Board via the Advisory Group on Capital Expenditure

Professor Bryan MacGregor is Head of the College of Physical Sciences and has been MacRobert Professor of Land Economy at the University of Aberdeen since 1990, as well as a Vice-Principal since 2003. Before becoming Head of the College of Physical Sciences in September 2011, Professor MacGregor led the University's Curriculum Reform initiative and was responsible for a number of special projects including a review of the Transparent Approach to Costing and the strategy for fees for students from the Rest of the UK. From 2003-8, he was Head of the College of Arts and Social Sciences.

As Programme Director Mark is responsible for leading and managing the set up of the programme through delivery of  new capabilities, processes and systems, the realisation of benefits and programme closure.

Mark has been involved in a number of other transformational programmes involving fully integrated systems in the commercial sector and, whilst at the University of Aberdeen over the last 5 years, has been responsible for the management of a portfolio of applications to support the institutional teaching, research and administrative processes.

Mark has gained experience during his career with Alstom being responsible for all aspects of IT service delivery, operations and development, and leading major international application development, integration and business process improvement projects. Mark has held the position of IT Director for Alstom Northern Europe Region for 5 yrs and prior to this was the deputy head of the turbine design business unit for GEC for 5 years.

Pat Browne joined the University in April 2012 as the Head of Business Improvement. She is a specialist in the implementation of continuous improvement processes and in particular Lean implementation for non-manufacturing environments. She has extensive work experience in guiding and supporting parties seeking tangible benefits from change initiatives.

Alexander Olsen joined the University in February 2013. Originally from Norway, Alexander came to Scotland in 2005 to study Politics and International Relations at Aberdeen. After graduating in 2009 Alexander worked as an Offshore Fisheries Observer with Marine Scotland before joining the OneSource programme as the Project Support Administrator.
