As a result of this valuable research exercise, the BIT were able to learn from their experiences and incorporate that experience into OneSource.
The OneSource programme is a huge undertaking and demonstrates the University's commitment to forward thinking in the twenty-first century. As such, it is believed virtually every member of staff connected with the University will come into contact with OneSource at some point during the roll-out process.
Please remember, the programme cannot succeed without the support and participation of a wide range of people from across the University so you may be asked to participate in various activities such as redesign workshops, consultations and surveys or exercises on current practices and or proposed changes.
Given the width and breadth of the OneSource programme, it is expected full implementation will take between three and five years to complete. In this time, individual projects will be rolled out ensuring any issues are found and dealt with as and when they occur. This will ensure the project is seamless saving time and resources in the long term.
The programme will benefit from a specialised Governance Board comprising of Senior Staff, a member of the University Court and a Student Representative. The Board sets the direction and monitors ongoing efficacy and project standards.
The OneSource project is lead by the Programme Sponsor, Professor Bryan MacGregor, who provides the necessary vision and leadership inconjunction with the Programme Director, Mr Mark Lewis, and the Head of Business Improvement, Mrs Pat Browne. The OneSource programme has been designed to follow a systematic and structured path and each individual project will be approached with a clearly defined remit.
The programme team will enable and support events and activities however it is those closest to the subject or area of work that will take ownership of the change process and be responsible for ensuring the optimal results. The OneSource programme has a dedicated and motivated team of specialists who can assist in all aspects of project roll-out.
