Project Update - 15 March 2013

The Initiation Management Stage of the project was completed when the Project Kick Off Meeting took place on 12th March 2013.  At the meeting there was representation from the Key Process Owners within Finance and Procurement, from Research & Innovation, IT Services, Business Improvement, and end users of the Finance System from the Schools and Administration.  The meeting introduced the UNIT4 Project Sponsor and Project Manager and set the scene for the project.

The following has been achieved:

• Finance and Procurement Survey completed.
• Project Proposal and Business Case approved by the Programme Board
• Draft Project Initiation Document written and presented to Project Board.
• High Level Project Plandeveloped
• Project Risk Register developed
• SharePoint document filing structure agreed and set up
• Project Build Team identified and agreed
• First Project Board Meeting held 11/03/13

Next Steps

• Open Information Events: 28-29th March.  The Finance presentation slides can be viewed here.
• Common Hierarchies Workshop (to include Human Resources and Directorate of Academic Affairs)
• Data Migration Workshop
• Project Initiation Document approval and sign off
• Detailed planning of Solution Design management stage
• Commencement of “To-Be” workshops with key finance process owners
• Decision on hosting made and subsequent planning of technical installations
