Power of the Middle Third: How Mid-level Leaders Create Breakthrough Business Performance

Where is the critical mass of leadership in an organization? Who actually does the work of delivering against performance expectations? Who are the custodians of productivity, quality and efficiency? Dr Anderson will look at these sorts of questions and reveal how mid-level leaders are in fact the key protagonists in achieving future organisational successes. He will bring into the discussion key research insights and evidence to build his case. He will address key challenges in managing performance and change, particularly through challenging times, such as low commodity price or budget squeezes, and show how factors like creativity and agility, effective communication and emergent strategy, and positive management behaviours, can principally be distributed and driven from the Middle Third.
