The University of Aberdeen is delighted to be hosting the 12th Reasoning Web Summer School (RW 2016) and 10th International Conference on Web Reasoning and Rule Systems (RR 2016) in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The12th Reasoning Web Summer School (RW 2016) shall take place from 5 - 9 September.
The research areas of Semantic Web and Linked Data have received a lot of attention in academia and industry recently. Since its inception in 2001, the Semantic Web has aimed at enriching the existing Web with meta-data and processing methods, so as to provide Web-based systems with intelligent capabilities such as context-awareness and decision support.
Many advanced capabilities required by Semantic Web and Linked Data application scenarios call for Reasoning. Thus, a perspective centered on the reasoning techniques complementing other research efforts in this area is desirable. This Summer School series is devoted to this perspective, and will give insight into the Semantic Web, Linked Data, Ontologies, Rules, and Logic. The Reasoning Web series of annual Summer Schools was started in 2005 on behalf of the work package "Education and Training (ET)" of the Network of Excellence REWERSE.
The 10th International Conference on Web Reasoning and Rule Systems (RR 2016) is being hosted by the University of Aberdeen on the 9 - 11 September. And continuing its successful tradition, the 10th International Conference On Web Reasoning And Rule Systems (RR 2016) will host a Doctoral Consortium (DC). The aim to provide doctoral students in Web Reasoning and related areas with a unique opportunity to present and discuss their research directions, be involved into state-of-the-art research discussion, and supported in establishing fruitful research collaborations.
