The first and second floors of the Fraser Noble Building (west wing) are currently undergoing extensive internal reorganisation and refurbishment. We wish to remind staff and students that these two upper floors of the west wing (nearest to the library) will be out of use until February 2012.
Beginning September 2011, the University is to undertake the restoration and renovation of the twin houses at 50/52 College Bounds.
With the end of term fast approaching, the Cash Office, located in the University Office, will operate shorter opening hours.
Please be aware that, due to the reduction in demand over the summer period, the University Shuttle Bus (Service 6) will revert to a one hour frequency from Monday 11th July. Timetables for the summer will be available on the First Aberdeen website shortly.
As of Monday 20 September, the QML car park will be managed as a regulated staff and visitors’ car park and the Butchart Centre car park will become a regulated student car park.

Following changes to car parking at the University last year, annual parking permits were issued to help regulate car parking. New permits for the 2010/11 session will therefore be issued shortly.

One of the most complex elements of the relocation to the new library building will be the transfer of the manuscript, archive, rare book, modern book and journal stock, glass plate negatives, sound materials, maps, etc etc, from their current locations to new destinations.
Planning for the physical relocation of stock to the new library is well underway. MovePlan move managers, Amanda Brown and Shirley Tait, are working onsite with Library & Historic Collections staff to plan the delivery of stock to the new building.
Major construction milestones have been achieved for the library site, including the completion of the substructure and lower ground superstructure.
