Health Walks

The Health Walks have been running for one year and are lead by a committed group of University employees dedicated to keeping fit and lunchtime exercise.  The routes vary from session to session and each walk is taken by a qualified Health Walk Leader.  Walks last from 30-45 minutes and are a great way to get out of the office, energise and refresh yourself for the afternoon.  The walks are free, cater for mixed abilities and welcome everyone.  Health Walks meet at the Old Town House, High Street on a Monday at 12.10-12.50.

The Sport and Exercise Team would like to take this opportunity to thank our friendly and reliable team of Health Walk leaders.  For further information on Health Walks please contact the Sport and Exercise Team.

Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is a great way to keep fit, increase your health, meet new friends and view the wonderful Aberdeenshire countryside.

Aberdeenshire Council run Nordic Walking Aberdeen Scotland sessions in conjunction with the Forestry Commission. Previous sessions have taken place at Kirkhill Forest and Countesswells Forest with walkers meeting in the car park on Wednesday lunchtimes, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Friday mornings.  For further information and who to contact please click here.

Geocaching

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.

There are several Geochases in Aberdeen, why not visit the Geocaching website to receive the co-ordinates and go on the hunt for one with a colleague or friend!
