LOCH NESS 10K CORPORATE CHALLENGE...
Aberdeen University Runners Win Two Trophies at Marathon Festival!
Congratulations to all who ran the Baxter's 10k Corporate Challenge at the Lochness Marathon Festival on Sunday 2nd October 2011. The weather was wet but spirits were kept high by an outstanding performance by all. The University had three teams enter and the top team took home two trophies, one for Fastest Overall Team and the other for Fastest Public Sector Team.
The route wound round the beautiful and historic capital of Inverness, passing the castle before running alongside the scenic River Ness. The event was extremely well organised and finished with a well deserved cup of hot soup which helped warm our soggy runners!

Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10k Race
A huge congratulations to Felicity Keefe, Sandra Thomson, Heather Mcateer, Mhairi Rose, Norman Coutts, Tracy Innes, Douglas Hay, Michael Tuckwell and Corinne Caumartin for completing the Baker Hughes 10k on Sunday 23rd May.
This year the event celebrated its 25th Anniversary and is now established as the largest 10K Road Race in the North East of Scotland with 3022 runners taking part.
The course followed a fabulous route past Aberdeen's iconic Beach Ballroom, winding around the Harbour area, and had some spectacular views of the North Sea on route of the course. Despite the weather report suggesting rain and wind the weather was perfect, and everyone finished with excellent times.
Special congratulations to Corinne Caumartin who was our first runner back in an excellent time of 44:10mins and to Michael Tuckwell AKA 'The Bullet' our first male runner back with a time of 45:28mins. Both runners achieved a faster time than the University Sport and Exercise Dream Team 46:12 and 48:06.
PRIZE DRAW WINNER: DOUGLAS HAY!!!
Thank you all for taking part and good luck with your training in the future.
