Can you tell me about the Staff-Student Liaison Committee? In early October the members of each course will be asked to elect one or two of their number to represent them on the Staff-Student Liaison Committee, which also includes those full-time staff members who are actively involved in teaching in the Department.
Prior to the first Staff-Student Liaison Committee meeting, class representatives will receive a letter from the Staff-Student Liaison Co-ordinator, which will inform them of the date, place, and time of the meeting and will also include a report prepared by the Head of Department based on the last half-session's Student Evaluation forms. Class representatives should ensure that they read the information enclosed carefully before attending in order to get the most out of the meeting.
The function of the Staff-Student Liaison Committee is to discuss a wide range of issues affecting students' experiences of the programme offered in the department, such as assessment, course work, course structure, etc. The department takes the role of the Committee very seriously, and welcomes constructive criticism and suggestions.
