Biography

As a student of French and German at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University), I took Spanish as an extra subject and was immediately hooked! When I finished studying, I went to Jerez de la Frontera to teach English and work in a bodega as a secretary.

 4 years later I returned to the UK and have since worked as a customer services representative for a telecommunications company, a recruitment counsellor, a sales executive for a hotel chain, an aerobics instructor and, of course, a Spanish teacher.  In order to further my qualifications, I came to the University of Aberdeen as a mature student and completed an MA in Hispanic Studies.  I am still here as I was offered the position of Teaching Assistant upon graduation.

This job is so enjoyable!  The energy and positive attitude of the students make it very fulfilling as well as challenging. I hope my own enthusiasm encourages them to make the most of their time at Aberdeen.
