Successful SOMC RDG bid
Our bid focussed on the perceived need for HP-HT test facilities amongst the companies we deal with and the contribution we could make to the Scottish economy and to the prosperity of North East Scotland. A dedicated test facility with open access to local SMEs would allow our collaborators to meet the growing international demand for HP-HT equipment and services. The falling price of crude oil made success dependent on cutting production costs through improved technology. The wide ranging expertise within the University could be harnessed to the benefit of the local community, provided our activities could be focussed on relevant areas through specialised new research facilities.
