The School of Social Science has over 50 academic staff in its departments:
All its staff are active researchers and were rated in the three highest grades in the national Research Assessment Exercise 2001.

comprise the School Executive Committee, which meets once
a month.
The School Consultative Group, which meets weekly, comprises the Head
of School, the Heads of the Departments of Anthropology, Politics and International
Relations, and Sociology, and the School Administrative Officer.
