Undergraduate Study

University of Aberdeen campusThe School is committed to providing an outstanding learning experience for its students where teaching is informed and delivered by staff actively engaged in research. Our expertise in Medicine, Dentistry and the Medical Sciences provides an extensive range of programmes in healthcare and science, all of which are recognised as excellent. We have more than 1,300 staff, providing teaching, research excellence and clinical expertise, who support a community of almost 2,000 students.

Teaching at the University is spread over two main sites, King’s College and the Foresterhill Health Campus, one of the largest clinical complexes in Europe. The historical buildings at Kings College mix with world class, state-of-the-art research facilities, such as the Institute of Medical Sciences and the impressive Sir Duncan Rice Library. These resources enable our science students to develop their skills in an exciting and stimulating research environment.

In both the Suttie Centre for Teaching and Learning in Healthcare and our purpose-built Institute of Dentistry, our healthcare students start their journey to professional practice learning alongside qualified clinical staff engaged in the lifelong learning that characterises excellence in healthcare. Our healthcare students also enjoy outstanding learning opportunities in our Highland campus and Dental outreach facilities. With regard to the latter, the School also offers Medical Science graduates the opportunity to apply to enter postgraduate study in Medicine, Dentistry or the innovative expanding Physician Associate programme.
