Biography
I am a native Swede. My academic background is mainly scientific (a “Lic Eng” is a Swedish type of PhD, and I completed mine on intraosseous implant research). Before graduating, I worked as Programme Adviser for Engineering Physics at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. After graduating, I worked as a materials scientist with medical devices and biomaterials research in Sweden (1991-2007), in private industry - Nobel Biocare AB - as well as at Chalmers University of Technology. However, my field of interest is rather broad and during a long maternity leave I also used theatre to interactively teach history to school children.
In 2014, I completed a PG Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
I am the Senior Personal Tutor for the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture.
University of Aberdeen offers four undergraduate courses in Swedish/Scandinavian Language. At present, I teach all four courses. These courses are an option for undergraduate Sustained Studies, but frequently also other students ask to join the courses. Apart from language knowledge, each course tries to incorporate some cultural experience.
