What can Cultural Production Tell Us about the Past?

Led by Fiona Noble and Ian Ross (both PhD candidates in Hispanic Studies), the aim of the session is to consider the intersection of history and cultural production. As a springboard for discussion, we will draw upon the following short texts:

• Walter Benjamin, 'On the Concept of History';
• Michel Foucault, 'The Historical a Priori and the Archive', from The Archaeology of Knowledge and the Discourse on Language (available as e-resource on library catalogue)
