Dr Steve Bird

I initially came to Aberdeen in 1992 to do my degree where I obtained a BSc with first class honours in cell and immunobiology degree at the Zoology Department, University of Aberdeen in 1997. I then stayed on to do a PhD, supervised by Prof. Chris Secombes, which I completed in 2002 entitled 'Molecular Evolution of Interleukin-1 Beta'. Following a postdoc position in fish cytokine discovery funded by Novartis, I am currently working within SFIRC as a RCUK independent research fellow.
