SATIN: Satiety Innovation is an EU funded project investigating the effect of novel products in weight loss, motivation to eat and gut health

We are looking for volunteers

  • Males and Females
  • Overweight and obese
  • Between 18 and 65 years old
  • Otherwise healthy (a medical screening is required for enrolment)

This study consists of 21 days of a weight loss plan and two 11-day maintenance periods with a fibre product (Resistant Starch). This diet is based on common dishes (e.g. pastries, bread, flapjacks and puddings) with the product incorporated into some of these foods. We will provide all the food items throughout the study.

Body weight and body composition will be monitored during the study. You will be invited to a test meal trial at the Rowett Human Nutrition Unit (HNU) on 4 occasions and we will ask you to provide blood, urine and faecal samples. (Visits last approximately 3 hours). Gut transit study is available for 6 volunteers using latest technology (SmartPill pdf).
