Overview of Research
Matt possesses a diverse background in research having worked for both the public and private sector, during which he has gained experience in using a wide set of methodologies and approaches. He has previously worked for The Centre for Criminal Justice, Economics and Psychology, where he reviewed evaluations of criminal justice interventions, and for QA Research, a commercial research company that mainly specialises in evaluation work for the public sector.
For the Rowan Group, Matt completed a literature review for The University for Children and Families that explored the link between parental participation in adult education and children's participation in Higher Education.
He has continued to widen and deepen his involvement in research related to young people with his work for the School of Education. For the evaluation of the Highland Future Schools project he has been involved in creating a number of questionnaires and was later responsible for completing a meaningful data analysis upon the results. He has also participated in conducting interviews for the project, as well as the analysis of qualitative data.
