Research & Innovation Teams

The Business Development Team works closely with the University of Aberdeen's researchers to maximise their research income, working closing with Finance for pricing and undertaking contract negotiation. They liaise closely with the Commercialisation and Technology Transfer team to identify intellectual property opportunities suitable for commercial exploitation
The Technology Transfer Team works with business and the University's experts to encourage technology transfer, in form of collaborating with industry, licensing of intellectual property and forming new companies
The Consultancy Officer works closely with clients to match their needs to the University's in-house expertise and resources. We also draw on our extensive external contacts, including the Aberdeen Research Consortium, to offer multi-disciplinary solutions for clients.
CPD Services is the part of the University responsible for the co-ordination, development and delivery of professional development from the University of Aberdeen. We work with academics and employers to deliver work related training that meets the needs of our clients.
North of Scotland KTP Centre, a joint venture with the Robert Gordon University to set up and manage Knowledge Transfer Partnerships.
The Contracts Team provides legal and contracting advice and support to Research & Innovation and the wider University Community on research, consultancy, interorganisational and commercial contracts. The contracts team ensures the University’s interests are protected throughout the contracting cycle.
Members of R&I's Support Team work with all of R&I's sectors on administrative detail, database management, information technology and finance.
