Religious Studies at Aberdeen was confirmed as one of the top departments in the UK by the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise. The format of this year's RAE allows readers to assess the proportion of research which the RAE panels judged to be of international or better quality (Aberdeen DRS = 70%), and that which was world-leading (15%). With an weighted average of 2.95, Aberdeen comes in at 2nd place nationally on the league tables compiled by the Times Higher Education Supplement (18th December 2008).
