The electronic registration facility opens in mid-July. Students must undertake the electronic registration procedure which means that you must log onto the e-reg site and complete 4 distinct portlets, the third portlet being the Fees Portlet. Log on to electronic registration at www.abdn.ac.uk/ereg. In the Fees Portlet you can confirm or propose changes to the tuition fee details that we hold for you on the student record system and, if you are due to pay your own tuition fees, you can make at least a minimum payment electonically and set up a payment plan to pay the balance. Payment can be made in advance of registration if you choose to do so. If not, fees must be settled within 14 days of your academic curriculum being made active otherwise your student ID card will be invalidated.
If you receive an award which carries with it payment of fees direct to the University i.e. Students Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS), Local Authority (LA) or other sponsor, the sum will be claimed directly from the award-giving body, otherwise you will be responsible for ensuring that the fee is paid (or an arrangement made) within 14 days of registration. Your acceptance of admission to the University is taken as acknowledgement of this responsibility.
All new sponsored students must either a) submit a copy of their letter of Award to the Fees Team in the Registry in advance of registration, or b) take their Letter of Award with them and hand in a copy to the Registry at Registration as proof that their tuition fees will be paid by a sponsoring authority. Without written evidence, the University will assume that you are personally liable for the full payment of tuition fees.
Whilst it is preferred that the full amount of tuition fees is paid within 14 days of registration using the electronic registration Fees Portlet, there are alternatives to the way fees can be paid by self-financing students, as under:
Tuition fees can be paid (in advance of registration which saves time queuing), either by:
a) paying through e-registration fees portlet or
b) by accessing our Electronic Payments Page (www.abdn.ac.uk/internetpayments) or
c) either in person at the Cash Office (open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) or over the telephone (tel 01224 272266) by Credit/Debit Card or
d) Bank Transfers are not our recommended method for payments but if options A) to C) above are not possible, international students can pay by bank transfer in local currency using the Western Union online facility (http://www.geoforeducation.com/PRR/Info/SelfEnrol.aspx?paramset=UOA-bec3-4cf9-9343-df82fa7bf785). However please be aware that if any refunds are due the money must be returned to the original source. This will require you to provide bank account details and proof that the original payment was made from that account.
A confirmation receipt will be issued to all students using the ePayment Facilities who make payment in advance of registration. It is important that you bring the receipt with you to your registration venue as proof of payment.
Always ensure that the student ID number is quoted when making any payment.
Provided the total fee payable is £250 or more, students can elect to pay by payment plan. A payment plan by Direct Debit (the money is taken from your bank each month) can be downloaded from the electronic registration Fees Portlet, or a form can be collected at the InfoHub or Finance Credit Control.
Plan - by four monthly instalments
