Students wishing to transfer degrees within an area of study, eg MA Accountancy-French to MA Accountancy-Finance, should contact their adviser of studies.
Undergraduate students wishing to transfer from degrees offered by one area of study (e.g. Master of Arts) to degrees offered in another area of study (e.g. Bachelor of Science) are advised to discuss their position with the Admissions Selector for the proposed new degree (the Admissions Selector can be contacted through the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office). A student must complete the Application Form for Internal Transfer and should forward the form to their Adviser of Studies for a reference. Advisers, having provided a reference, should forward the form to the Senate Office. The form will be passed to the relevant Admissions Selector who will consider the application.
Students will be sent a letter indicating the outcome of the application and will include details of any conditions, which must be fulfilled before the transfer is made. Students will be asked to confirm whether or not they accept the offer of transfer. Once the offer has been accepted and any conditions met confirmation of transfer will be confirmed in writing and the student record will be updated accordingly. Students will also be allocated a new Adviser of Studies and will be asked to contact the new Adviser to discuss their curriculum.
Transfer forms for postgraduate students can also be obtained from the Postgraduate Registry. Upon completion, they should be signed by your Supervisor and Head of Departments and then passed to the Postgraduate Registry who will then seek approval from the relevant Postgraduate Officer.
Students wishing to transfer to the University of Aberdeen from elsewhere should contact the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office.
