Sir Thomas Broun Smith Memorial |
The prize is awarded from time to time by the trustee of the Sir Thomas Broun Smith Memorial Trust to the writer of the essay, which is adjudged to be the best submitted in accordance with the rules of the competition. The prize was last awarded in 1995 and the subject of the essay was "the extent to which prior statements of witness and accused persons should be admissible in criminal trials in Scotland ". It is anticipated that the prize will be offered triennially. Those eligible to compete are (i) those who are currently students in the School of Law at the University of Aberdeen and (ii) those who have graduated in Law from the University of Aberdeen since 1 January 1990. |
