Students spend most of their time on site at the University of Aberdeen: at the King's College campus in Old Aberdeen, or at Foresterhill, or both.
Students study courses run by the University of Aberdeen, but do not normally study on site at the University. The off campus category includes students spending time away from Aberdeen on exchange, research, fieldwork or work placement, as well those studying by distance learning methods. We classify all Centre for Lifelong Students as off campus students.

are, or will be, registered for individual courses from any of these seven areas of study but are not presently intending to complete a degree or other award: non-graduating students pursuing individual subject study (ISS)

Part-time and full-time students
UK, EU and international students
who
are, or will be registered for taught programmes that lead to a postgraduate award: postgraduate certificates, diplomas and various Masters degrees, including MSc, LLM, MEd, MLE, MTh, MSc (Econ), MLitt and MBA
or
are registered for research training programmes that lead to a postgraduate award, such as MRes degrees and MLitt degrees .
Please note that special arrangements apply to candidates for the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). This is treated as an UNDERGRADUATE award in Education.
Part-time and full-time students
UK and international students
who
are, or will be registered for studies that lead to a postgraduate award by research : Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and other Masters degrees by research (i.e. not those Masters degrees, including research training awards, associated with taught programmes).
All students - usually qualified teachers and other professionals - who are, or will be, registered for CPD courses or programmes run by the School of Education
Students on the industrial placement year of their degree programme
Language students on their year or half-year abroad
Students on a SOCRATES/ERASMUS or North American exchange
Part-time Profesional Graduate Diploma in Education Students
Some postgraduate programmes are taught by distance-learning methods. These include:
LLM in International Business Law
MSc in Project Management
To carry out their work, research students sometimes base themselves away from the University. You must have permission to do this.
All students who are, or will be, registered for courses or programmes with the Centre for Lifelong Learning, including those who live and study in Aberdeen.
