Congratulations on your impending graduation.

The local and national media traditionally seeks out interesting stories regarding our new graduates.  The University’s Communications Office would be delighted to hear from any student willing to have contact with the media during Graduations.  Some examples of stories covered during previous ceremonies include:

• Students who have excelled or have completed newsworthy research
• International students
• Mature students
• “Against the odds…” – eg degree gained in adversity
• Graduates about to embark on a new venture – eg high profile career start, round-the-world trip
• Family connections – eg generations of Aberdeen graduates, relations of University staff
• Graduates who have enjoyed a particular extra curricular activity during their student career eg sport, student politics, etc
• ‘Local’ connections – eg groups of friends sharing the same ‘home town’

Your participation would be appreciated.  These stories not only add to the celebratory atmosphere of the occasion but highlight your achievement and the University’s contribution to your success.  They may inspire others to follow in your footsteps and will also profile your particular academic discipline.
