All guests (including children) admitted to the Graduation Ceremony must be in possession of a ticket. Each student wishing to graduate in person will receive a standard issue of TWO guest tickets (graduating students do not require a ticket). In most cases the allocation will be in the main Hall, but if there is an unusually high volume of applications, those that apply after the published deadline may only receive tickets for the video link-up in the King’s College Auditorium. In addition, you may apply for an extra ticket(s) by filling the additional ticket request form and attaching it to the completed Application to Graduate form. Applications for additional tickets will be accepted but those received by the closing date for receipt of graduation forms will get priority. There is a fire safety limit on the number of seats permitted. If the allocated additional ticket(s) are not in the main Elphinstone Hall itself then guests may still be allocated a video-link ticket in the King’s College Auditorium.
If there are additional seats available, the requests for an extra guest ticket(s) will be put into a ballot, and the relevant number of request slips drawn at random. If you are successful in the ballot, the tickets will be sent to you with your main allocation of tickets.
If you have requested additional ticket(s) and none are enclosed with your main allocation this means that you have been unsuccessful in the ballot.
If you find that, having asked for an extra ticket you no longer need it, please let the InfoHub know by letter or e-mail (graduation@abdn.ac.uk) so that your request can be taken out of the ballot. Equally, if you are successful in the ballot and discover that you do not need the ticket, please return it at once to the InfoHub so that it may be issued to another student on our waiting list.
