The credit requirements for full-time and part-time study at undergraduate level are stipulated in the General Regulations for first Degrees and, where relevant, in the Supplementary Regulations for particular degrees. These requirements are defined in terms of the credits which can be taken in each half-session.
A student registered for part-time study may not study more than eight credits per half-session. The General Regulations stipulate that a student registered for full-time study must study at least 10 credits per half-session. Supplementary Regulations for certain degrees further define these requirements.
If a student wishes to change their mode of study e.g. transfer from full-time to part-time study or vice versa, they must discuss this with their Adviser of Studies. The student and Adviser will need to complete an Amendment to Mode of Study form and return it to the Senate Office. Once approval for the change to mode of study has been sought from the relevant Admissions Selector, the Senate Office will write to confirm the change in mode of study and will the student record.
