There is a successful programme of functional imaging research concentrating on both MRI and PET. Prof Gilbert heads the oncological imaging programme investigating angiogenesis using a breast cancer model using both dynamic MRI information and metabolic data from PET.
Dr Murray is a neuroradiologist and uses MRI, PET and Nuclear Medicine techniques to investigate various neurological conditions including stoke, the ageing brain, white matter changes in divers and the immediate postoperative period in divers.
Grants have been obtained from the MRC, EPSRC, HTA board, CRC and Scottish Office to support staff and infrastructure costs.
