QRA Postgraduate Symposium 2012

The 17th Annual QRA Postgraduate Symposium

The 17th annual QRA postgraduate symposium will be hosted by the Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of Abderdeen. We invite postgraduate students regardless of status (soon to start or due to finish)to join us between the 29th and 31st August 2012 on the historic 15th century Kings College Campus. The QRA postgraduate symposium is an excellent opportunity for postgraduate students to meet and present to their peers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

We invite abstracts on any aspect of the Quaternary and the conference will be structured around submissions. Whatever your discipline we would like to welcome you to Aberdeen!

The first day will center on a field excursion to the north-east of Scotland. We will combine a visit to some outstanding examples of glacial geomorphology along with a visit to some of the finest stone circles outside of southern England. A visit to the Glen Garioch whisky distillery will follow, allowing us to wind down and reflect on the day.

The keynote will be given by Dr. Dmitri Mauquoy.
