It is with pleasure that the School of Social Science invites you and your Higher Modern Studies pupils to the annual Higher Modern Studies Conference.

The conferences will take place on Wednesday 30th March for Aberdeenshire schools and Thursday 31st March 2011 for City schools. The conferences will allow your pupils to discover at first hand how Politics & International Relations and Sociology are taught at University, with sessions taken by experts in the field.

The conference programme has been developed to offer plenary sessions on exam technique, Wealth and Health in the UK, Electoral Systems (UK and Scotland), Voting Patterns and Behaviour with a choice of elective sessions. The electives will consist of a short presentation by a lecturer/postgraduate student in the Department of Politics & International Relations followed by an interactive session when students are encouraged to take part.
