Biography

Dr Bennett-Hunter was educated by the universities of Durham and Cambridge. His PhD, awarded by the University of Cambridge in 2011, was in the field of philosophy of religion and focussed on the notion of ineffability.

After completing his PhD, Dr Bennett-Hunter taught and carried out research in the Department of Philosophy at Durham University. In 2012, he held a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, before joining the Department of Philososophy at the University of Aberdeen as a Research Fellow in October 2012.

Current Research

Dr Bennett-Hunter is currently working on the Uses and Abuses of Biology Grant Programme Project 'Emergence: From Biology to Theology' with the PI, Dr Russell Re Manning. For more information, visit the Project's website.

His other research engages with phenomenological, pragmatist and Wittgensteinain philosophical approaches and applies them to the concept of religious certainty.
