Thought is a new journal launched in 2012 by The Northern Institute of Philosophy and Wiley-Blackwell. The journal is dedicated to the publication of short (of less than 4500 words), original, philosophical papers in the following areas: Logic, Philosophical Logic, Philosophy of Mathematics, Philosophy of Language, Metaphysics, Epistemology and Philosophy of Mind. We aim to have a quick review time, with a commitment to giving authors a response within 8 weeks.
The journal is edited by Professors John Divers, Carrie Jenkins and Crispin Wright. The editors are assisted by six subeditors, each for one of the publishing areas: Logic (JC Beall), Mathematics (Richard Heck), Metaphysics (Ross Cameron), Mind (Susanna Siegel), Language (Jonathan Schaffer), Epistemology (Brian Weatherson). Using subeditors allows us to employ a unique reviewing system which we designed to ensure that each published paper is double-reviewed by experts in the relevant subcategory of research and no paper is rejected by a 'non-expert'.
