I joined NIP in March 2012 as a postdoctoral research fellow on the Relativism and Rational Tolerance project. Prior to that, I completed my Ph.D at the University of Michigan, where I wrote my dissertation, The Good and the Gross, under Liz Anderson, Peter Railton, and Allan Gibbard. I am originally from New York City, and received my undergraduate degree at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York. My research interests are moral psychology and metaethics. I am also interested in questions about philosophical methods, such as the use of intuitions in philosophy, and the intersection of philosophical theory with empirical research in the social sciences. you can email me at a.plakias [at] abdn.ac.uk
