The SSEMP is generously funded by the College of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Aberdeen (http://www.abdn.ac.uk/cass) and by the Scots Philosophical Association (http://www.scotsphil.org.uk). There is no registration or fee. All are welcome to attend.
The conference will take place in the Library of the Divinity School in King’s College. For a campus map, see: http://www.abdn.ac.uk/central/vcampus/kings/index.shtml (King’s College is listed as number 28).
The University of Aberdeen campus is situated in Old Aberdeen about a mile north of the city centre. There are no hotels in Old Aberdeen, but the campus is well-connected to the city centre by bus (see http://www.abdn.ac.uk/central/vcampus/kings/bus.shtml).
For participants arriving by plane at Aberdeen Airport (ABZ), it is most convenient to take a taxi to your hotel. It should take approximately 20 minutes and cost around £20.
Please make sure to book your accommodation well in advance. Note that the SSEMP does not cover expenses for travel and accommodation. There are numerous hotels in the city centre, most situated in the vicinity of Union Street, the main street of Aberdeen. The following two hotels, however, are conveniently situated for both the University (15-20 minute walk) and the City Centre (5 minute walk).
