12 months full-time, 24 months part-time.
For those with a degree in History, Philosophy or another relevant discipline who seek a more advanced postgraduate taught degree or who plan to continue doing a PhD, the School offers a one-year taught Master's degree in History and Philosophy of Science.
Students choose between one of two overlapping streams (philosophy or history).
Students in the philosophy stream take 45 credits of training courses, namely:
They take further 75 credits of taught modules, normally in specific areas of Philosophy or History. At least 15 of these must be in History.
They complete their studies with a dissertation (60 credits) of a topic in Philosophy of Science of their own choice, in consultation with a supervisor.

In general, an upper second class Honours degree in History or Philosophy or with a major component in History or Philosophy. For international applicants, proof of proficiency in English is required. The accepted certificates and minimum scores are listed as follows: IELTS overall score 6.5, which must include Listening 5.5 or above, Reading 6.0 or above, Speaking 5.5 or above, Writing 6.0 or above.
