Primary Care Clinical Informatics Unit

The Primary Care Clinical Informatics Unit (PCCIU) currently collects data from GPASS Practices bi-annually in spring and autumn. The collected data for each season is amalgamated to a single seasonal general practice database which is then analysed to create individual reports to Practices, Community Health Partnerships (CHPs) and Health Boards. Our spring 2010 database contains data for 173 practices (about 0.9 million patients). Our seasonal databases can be used to provide datasets to PCCIU approved researchers.

PCCIU has collected data from GPASS Practices bi-annually since 2000. Each seasonal database contains all data recorded into GPASS up to the date of extraction from the Practice.

Research

The Primary Care Clinical Infomatics Unit Research (PCCIUR) controls all activities associated with research using PCCIU data.  PCCIUR welcomes funded collaborations to develop research projects using PCCIU data.
