John V Forrester MD FRCSE FRCSG FRCOphth
Cockburn Professor and Head of Department.

Professor Forrester graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1970. His research interests are in the areas of diabetes, retinal disease, inflammation, autoimmunity and immunology of the eye. Professor Forrester has been Editor of the British Journal of Ophthalmology since 1992. He is currently Chairman of the Wellcome Vision Research Neurosciences Panel and is a member ofmany advisory committees including the Royal National Institute for the Blind and the British Diabetic Association.
