Biography

Wendy J Graham is currently Professor of Obstetric Epidemiology at the University of Aberdeen. She has specialist interests in the reduction and the measurement of maternal mortality, and has undertaken collaborative research in many developing countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.  Since 2002, Wendy has been the Lead Scientist for Immpact, an international research group focused on strengthening the evidence-base to reduce maternal mortality (www.immpact-international.org). Two focus areas of her current work are improving & measuring the quality of obstetric services, & strengthening the translation of research evidence into policy & practice. She serves on expert panels and committees for several global partnerships and initiatives and also holds a seconded position with the UK Department for International Development as an evidence advisor.
