Biography

Seonaidh Cotton joined HSRU in 2007 as a trial manager.  She graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a BSc in Health Sciences in 1993, an MLitt in 1995, and a PhD in 2007.  Prior to joining the Unit, Seonaidh worked in the Department of Public Health at the University of Aberdeen.

Seonaidh works as a trial manager across a number of different trials.  These include FOCCUS (a multicentre trial looking at whether fluid loading reduces the risks associated with major surgery in high-risk patients), REFLUX (a national multicentre trial that aims to look at the best form of treatment for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, and is now in long-term follow-up) and CLASS (a multicentre trial comparing two minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins with conventional surgery).
